Three attorney members have a seat on the Judicial Nominating Board, including an At-large Seat, a Northern Seat and a Southern Seat. The three seats came open for election at the end of last year. The deadline for submitting ballots was Jan. 13, 2024. Today, the Judiciary announced the results of the election.
The following people have been elected to the JNB for terms beginning Feb. 1, 2025 and ending Jan. 31, 2027:
Justin A. Brown, Esq. of Chittenden County – representing the State At-Large area
Jessica Burke, Esq. of Chittenden County – representing the Northern area
Sarah Vangel, Esq, of Windham County – representing the Southern area
The election was supervised by the Vermont Supreme Court pursuant to the provisions of 4 V.S.A. § 601(b)(4) and Administrative Order No. 1. The duties and responsibilities of the Board are set out at 4 V.S.A. §§ 601-602.
