The Judicial Conduct Board investigates complaints about judges and recommends any needed action to the court. The Supreme Court appoints the nine members of the Board, which consists of three judges, active or retired (but not active Supreme Court Justices), three lawyers admitted to practice in Vermont, and three members of the public who are not judges and are not admitted to practice law in Vermont
One of the attorney-held seats is coming open Dec. 31, 2024, and the VBA has been asked to provide the Supreme Court with the names of three nominees for that seat.

At its November meeting, the VBA Board of Managers will select up to three nominees to forward to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will make the appointment in January 2025.
