The Agency of Natural Resources’ Enforcement & Litigation Section has an opening for an Environmental Litigation Attorney. The position will focus on representing the Agency in litigation before the Superior Court, Environmental Division in administrative enforcement actions, appeals of Agency decisions and Act 250 decisions, and in proceedings before the Public Utility Commission reviewing energy-related projects.
Candidates must be a member in good standing of the Vermont bar or eligible for admission. The Environmental Litigation Attorney must have a minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience. Candidates with environmental law experience and civil or administrative litigation preferred. Applicants should have excellent research, writing, trial and negotiation skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
The Environmental Litigation Attorney position is an exempt full-time position. Salary offered for this position is commensurate with the applicant’s background and experience in accordance with the State of Vermont Attorney Pay Plan.
