The Vermont Bar Association (VBA) is offering another round of awards to support attorneys who are struggling with student loan debt.
The VBA Loan Repayment Assistance Program, also known as LRAP, is specifically designed to aid attorneys who are burdened by debt so that they can work in underserved geographic and subject areas. The next round of awards will be granted in January 2025, and the application deadline has recently been extended to Nov. 11, 2024.
If you have student loans that are currently in forbearance, don’t let that deter you from applying. See the application form for full details.
To be eligible for this program, applicants must be members of the VBA and hold a license to practice law in Vermont. They must also have an annual income of no more than $78,375 and carry at least $25,000 in student loan debt from undergraduate and/or graduate education. Successful applicants will be eligible to receive up to $5,000 annually in loan assistance payments from LRAP. For more details about LRAP and the application, please visit HERE.
