A group of Vermont attorneys, alarmed by attacks on the rule of law by the Trump administration, have organized a march to take place in Burlington on May 3. They are also collecting attorney signatures on a statement the group has drafted.
The march will begin at noon at the Chittenden Superior Court, 175 Main St., Burlington. Lawyers, and fellow rule-of-law supporters, will march north along Church Street to the Federal Courthouse on Elmwood Avenue, to a rally with speakers on the green at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, directly across from the Federal Courthouse. Speakers include: Harry Stark, ACLU, David Silver, Criminal Defense Attorney, Charity Clark, Vermont Attorney General, Dawn Seibert, Immigration Attorney and Elizabeth Shackelford, former Foreign Service and Columnist.
Marchers are encouraged to bring signs related to the rule of law. More information is available on the group’s website. Attorneys who want to RSVP and add their name to the group’s statement should also see the website.
